Kolkata Metro announces fare chart for Garia Station-Ruby Metro line

Kolkata Metro has recently launched the Joka-Taratla Metro service, which will now run from Kabi Subhash Metro Station to Ruby Mor, also known as Hemant Mukhopadhyay Station. With the new service, passengers can travel directly from Dum Dum to Ruby without the need to change at Rasbihari and catch a bus.

The Commissioner of Railway Safety has granted permission for the safety of the new Metro line, which will start from Ruby and extend all the way to Kolkata airport, forming the Orange Line of Kolkata.

The Metro authority has announced the fare chart for the Garia Station-Ruby Metro line. Passengers travelling from Dum Dum or Dakshineshwar to Hemant Mukhopadhyay Station will pay a fare of Rs.45. Meanwhile, those travelling from Dharmtala, Park Street, or Kalighat to Hemant Mukhopadhyay Station will pay a fare of Rs.40, and the fare from Mahanayak Uttam Kumar to Hemant Mukhopadhyay is Rs.35. In the first phase, the fare for two kilometers is Rs.5, for 2 to 5 kilometers it is Rs.10, and for 10 to 20 kilometers it is Rs.30.

P Udayakumar Reddy, the new General Manager of Kolkata Metro, has announced the introduction of the new 14 Dalian rake to reduce the time difference between two Metros, ensuring that passengers can reach their destinations more quickly.

Moreover, the railway authority is planning to start a Metro service from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade very soon. This year, there is a plan to run Metro on a new 22.9 kilometer line, including the expansion of Metro from নোযাপাড়া to the airport, Taratala to Magherhat, Ruby to Salt Lake, and Howrah Maidan to Dharmatala.

The Metro authority has not announced the exact date of the new service's launch, but it is expected to start very soon.
